Wintergreen - A Natural Painkiller

Gaultheria Fragrantissima and Gaultheria Procumbens are two examples of the many plant species that make up the genus Gaultheria from which Wintergreen is derived. Characterized by low-growing wildflowers embellished with shiny evergreen leaves and small white flowers throughout July and August followed by bright red berries that often persist through winter.

Typically found in North America, Asia, and India. It goes by many names but the most common ones are Checkerberry, Boxberry, and Teaberry, among others. The fruit known as Wintergreen can be consumed raw or transformed into syrup, drinks, or jelly.
